In 1936, Bruno Magli and his siblings, Marino and Maria, began crafting women's shoes in a small basement in Bologna, Italy. By 1948, they opened their first factory. As Italian footwear became synonymous with taste and economic standing, the Maglis were the first in Italy to target production for export.
